Improving vocabulary development, reading, comprehension and writing strategies across the content disciplines.

Participants implemented a guided reading/writing format called the six step 6Rs plan; developed literacy lessons; acquired methods, strategies and techniques to improve student vocabulary acquisition, reading comprehension and writing development

These power point presentations were used with fourth graders studying the history of Floral Park as well as fifth graders taking the New York State Social Studies exam.  They helped to prepare them for the document based questions.
